These collages were made from thermal receipts collected from customer copies while working in fine dining. The process developed from sourcing a common waste material and experimenting with heat. I created a palette of color value using a heat gun after crumpling the receipts for texture. A lot of the material also came from the end rolls when changing out the printer paper. I was thinking about the nature of material waste created from consumerism and using the paper was symbolic of purchases. The composition of each work resembles mountains and the visual accumulation of transactions.
